King Living recently held a VIP styling event with Love It Or List It Australia host and media personality Neale Whitaker and Vogue Living Market Editor and Stylist Joseph Gardner.
Hosted at the Adelaide Showroom in Keswick, guests joined us for drinks and canapés. For this particular look, Gardner drew inspiration from his visit to the Maison et Objet design event in Paris earlier this year, and hoped to bring a glamorous, chic feel to the display. With the Zaza taking centre stage in a timeless oatmeal, textured Mokum fabric, the pair discussed Charles Wilson’s design triumph, as well as current design trends. Styled with lavish, Art-Deco Inspired “Zazina” cushions, the Zaza was the ideal piece to re-create the image of a lofty Parisian apartment. Alongside, Oliver Tub Chairs upholstered in a creamy, plush velvet, as well as the elegant Uno Ottoman in a pearl shade, truly completed the sophisticated space.
During the Q&A session, Neale and Joseph discussed King Living’s 40-year design history, the brand’s insistence on “working with Australian designers”, with Neale noting King’s points of difference:
“I really believe that this company is unparalleled in this country and in this market – I think the quality of manufacture, the integrity of the design and the “Australian-ness” of these products makes it really special."
Neale Whitaker
Perhaps one of the most important points of the night came from Joseph, stressing the importance of investing in the basics, and following trends in more affordable ways – such as through cushions or even a luxe throw rug.
Coming to King Living, buying an amazing sofa that’s going to last you forever in a colour you will love forever, and introducing the trends through things like cushions, which you can change seasonally.
