KING is excited to have partnered with Mirvac to deliver the interior styling and furnishing of a new residential apartment in Melbourne’s Voyager Tower at Yarra’s Edge.
Curated by KING Brand Ambassador Neale Whitaker, the exquisite residence is inspired by the idiosyncratic scenes of the stunning and unique Australian landscape.
Showcasing contemporary furniture by KING and a collection of beautiful Australian artworks from Studio Gallery, the three-bedroom residence captures the very essence of modern Australian apartment living.
Neale has created a seamless flow with the Zaza Armchair in TrueTouch Mallee leather, Zaza Sofa in Olley Confetti fabric, and the Issho Coffee Table and Side Table in Congo finish.
As one of Australia’s most celebrated interior experts, Neale has used his expert eye to hand-pick KING furniture and accessories, accentuating the grand design of Voyager and enviable Yarra River views.
“I wanted to create a contemporary Australian aesthetic by layering colours, materials and textures that evoke the Australian landscape,” Neale shares. “I contrasted linens with leathers, warm tones with cooler greys and pale greens to create a space that felt luxurious and welcoming whilst opening itself to the uniquely urban view."
“To me, Australian style reflects our love of the outdoors and has developed over time to a sophisticated contemporary aesthetic that celebrates quality, functionality and design integrity.”
Utilising key pieces, Neale has brought the space to life, giving owners and prospective owners the opportunity to visualise how their home can come to life. The apartment comprises three bedrooms, a spacious living/dining area, a study nook and outdoor entertaining area. Each room is designed with a tranquil aesthetic — a relaxing juxtaposition to the sweeping views of the bustling city skyline below.
The Vertio Wall System (left) provides an elegant storage solution and can be rearranged to fit any space.
Each piece selected by Neale works seamlessly with the soft, aerodynamic lines of Voyager, particularly the Zaza Sofa and sculptural Issho Coffee and Dining Table. For additional storage and display, Neale chose the innovative Vertio Wall System.
“The pieces chosen needed to work seamlessly together from an aesthetic and functional perspective. Wherever possible, I integrated storage. I also needed to consider scale to maintain visual harmony through clearly defined living 'zones'.”
For soft furnishings, Neale selected a colour palette of contemporary neutral tones highlighted by Smoked Oak timber pieces in the dining and living areas. This colour palette extends to the outdoor area, converted into two separate zones; a dining and a lounge area complementing the interior selections with Quay Outdoor in Malibu Silver fabric, Dawn WeatherWeave® and Salt KingCote™ frame.
“Contemporary King designs like the Zaza Sofa, Vertio Wall System and Quay Outdoor not only complement each other, but blend perfectly with numerous interior styles and aesthetics. To my mind, their timelessness makes them perfect for modern apartment living.” explains Neale.
The Pallino Table Lamp rests on the Dainelli Roma Bedside Table in American Walnut (left), completing the bedroom styling.
