This month, King Living’s first North American showroom opened, in Vancouver. They might live on opposite sides of the globe, but Australians and Canadians have plenty in common. For example, they mostly live in cities but have access to expansive wilderness areas, they’re known for enjoying a relaxed lifestyle and they both have access to the finest in Australian-designed contemporary furniture.
And it’s not just any showroom. Located in South Granville, an inner suburb known for beautiful houses, great restaurants and premium retail, King Living Vancouver spans two levels and approximately 1,000 square metres. It’s been designed to provide inspiration for architects, designers and homeowners, with a large selection from the King Living collection displayed in various settings.
The new showroom is King Living’s fifth international location, following Malaysia, Shanghai, Singapore and New Zealand, and the first outside of the Asia Pacific region. As King Living founder David King explains, this choice of location was no accident. “The relaxed lifestyle and consideration for the environment where people are more inclined to appreciate quality and long-lasting products makes Vancouver a perfect location for the launch of the King Living brand in Canada,” he says.
In an age when so much is bought and sold online, having this physical location, where Canadians can experience the distinctly Australian quality and style of the product first-hand, will be essential to establishing the King Living brand with design practitioners and design lovers in this market. “We offer a quality product that is designed around innovation, comfort and customisable to every lifestyle or space,” says King Living CEO Anna Carrabs. “We are excited to share our love of design and furniture with those in Vancouver.”
