Multi award-winning design studio Biasol once again delivers compelling architectural expression in its latest project, Shanti House.

Home to a yoga instructor and her family of five, the once-contemporary Caulfield home is now a light-filled and peaceful residence. With fundamental yoga concepts of flow, connection and stillness in mind, Melbourne-based Biasol has created a space which embodies the energy of sunlight and fresh air, aligned with awareness and breath in yoga.

An artful neutral palette enhances the high-ceilings and seamless design features of the space, with classic whites, creams and greys providing a blank canvas, from which the residents can add personal touches. The stunning watercolour grid set against a white backdrop provides a pop of colour, adding energy to the area.

In this family space, the Jasper is the perfect centrepiece. Upholstered in a textured ivory Mokum fabric, the spacious choice of setting provides the style, comfort and modular flexibility for effortless daily living. Styled with vibrant chevron cushions and a pared-back cashmere throw, the use of pattern, texture and colour play beautifully alongside the gorgeous artwork. Sleek marble-topped coffee tables provide a natural polished element, while Royal Oak Flooring adds depth and warmth.

Biasol’s designers note that this project was less about designing the space, and more about creating spaces which align in harmony. The kitchen, at the heart of the house is the central space from which indoor and outdoor areas flow; moving with one another to support the family’s lifestyle.

The open plan living style and lofty high ceilings are enhanced by clerestory windows, enabling additional sunlight and warmth to flow through the home. Vertical windows frame the lush green hedge, bringing colour and the vitality of nature into the dining and living areas.

Biasol has created a modern family space, filled with light, air and warmth. Shanti House’s design embodies a contemporary expression of the fundamental intentions of yoga practice, bringing elements of design and nature together to form a connected yet comfortable family haven.
